We’d like to thank our loyal patrons and new customers for making us a recipient of a 2014 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. TripAdvisor honors vacation rentals, attractions, restaurants, and other hospitality businesses, “because they consistently impress travelers.” The Certificate of Excellence is based exclusively on reviews from guests and their personal ratings. Without a ballot box or an application, this award is truly important to us because it reflects the experiences of our guests at the Melody Tent.
We want to thank our dedicated fans who have used TripAdvisor to share their personal stories and landed the Melody Tent at #2 on the list of top attractions in Hyannis. With reviews like, “Can’t miss venue” and “Best concert place around,” it is our fans who make us strive to deliver the best in entertainment every summer.
Next Friday night, August 22nd, the Melody Tent is starting a new tradition: the Irish Rock Music Festival. With a lineup of world-renowned musicians, Irish dancing, and of course, award-winning Irish food, like Saw Doctors shows of years past, the festival is expected to be a night of excitement.
Opening the festival are two high-energy, Celtic bands taking their cue from bands like the Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly or the Young Dubliners. The Fighting Jamesons will be performing their biggest hits at the Irish Rock Music Festival like their renditions of “Drunken Sailor,” “Rocky Road to Dublin” and “Whiskey in a Jar.” Since their formation in 2009, they have shared the stage with legendary Irish rock bands such as the Dropkick Murphys and the Saw Doctors. We will also welcome Celtica: Pipes Rock to the festival on the 22nd. Their combination of traditional bagpipes with rock music makes their sound unique and unforgettable, the perfect addition to the Festival.
On the second stage, the Haley School of Irish Dance bring their most skilled Irish Dancers ready to take the stage.
The headliner of the Irish Rock Music Festival is none other than Grammy-awarded, Emmy nominated Eileen Ivers, one of the most talented fiddlers in the world. Her sound has been heard in the London Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops, she has guest starred in over 40 orchestras, and was awarded the All-Ireland Fiddle Champion 9 times. Her many accolades have given her the reputation as the pre-eminent fiddler on the Irish Music scene today, and she will be bringing those talents to the tent this summer.
We cannot wait to bring the Irish Rock Music Festival to Hyannis. An evening filled with talented musicians, cultural dancing and of course, food, we are anticipating a night that will be hard to forget. Get your tickets while you can!
We’d like to thank everyone who made donations at the Trace Adkins show and the Lee Brice show in Cohasset. The South Shore Music Circus and the Cape Cod Melody Tent have participated in Military Appreciation Week by partnering with the Military Friends Foundation.
The mission of the Military Friends Foundation is to support our troops by “offering financial assistance to eligible families who have faced hardships related to active service.” Since being established in 2003, the foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Massachusetts military families. We teamed up with the Military Friends Foundation to collect care package items and toys for veterans and military families at both the Trace Adkins and Lee Brice concerts. Each contribution helps the Foundation in their continuous support for our military families.
We also want to thank Cape Country104 for participating in Cape Cod Cares for our Troops “Tickets for the Troops” promotions. The radio station awarded tickets to military personnel for the Trace Adkins and Scotty McCreery shows. Big Thanks to all of our patrons and partners who stepped up and came out to support our men and women in uniform!
Many of the stars that will take the stage this summer at the South Shore Music Circus and the Cape Cod Melody Tent have come together to create unforgettable music. These different collaborations manage to capture the talent of some of our favorite artists with the result being unique sounds and hit singles.
Matt Nathanson partnered with Jennifer Nettles at the 2011 Country Music Awards to sing the song ‘Run,’ which is featured on Nathanson’s album Modern Love. This single debuted at #17 on the Billboard top 200 Albums Chart and their live performance was quite the crowd-pleaser.
Singer/song-writer, Gavin DeGraw, is no stranger to the country music scene as he has collaborated with two of our favorite artists: Martina McBride and Sara Evans. Four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, Martina McBride, teamed up with DeGraw to produce the song, ‘Bring It Home to Me,’ which appears on her album, Everlasting. He is also featured on Sara Evan’s album, Slow Me Down, in her single “Not Over You.” He was the ideal pick for these two collaborations with his powerful vocals and notorious talent when it comes to song-writing.
The hit song “It’s the End of the World as We Know It,” was first recorded by rock band R.E.M in 1987, appearing on their album Document. Today, we can’t get enough of the cover by Sugarland, Matt Nathanson and Little Big Town.
