NEW MELODY TENT AND MUSIC CIRCUS SHOWS OFFER A TASTE FOR EVERY PALETTE

5th Announcement of the 2014 Summer Concert Season Released

Cohasset, MA, April 25, 2014 – The Melody Tent and Music Circus made their 5th round of show announcements for the upcoming summer concert series and the lineup offers an impressive array of artists. The Cape will host two legendary jam bands, Bob Weir & RatDog on June 7th and moe. on July 17th.   Adding to an already impressive roster of music icons, Boz Scaggs will bring his signature blend of R&B, Rock and Jazz to the Melody Tent stage July 31st.

Sure to be one of highlights of the summer season on the Cape, The First Annual Cape Cod Melody Tent Brewers Festival will feature an astounding variety of beers for tasting. Adding to the flow of that event will be sets by Entrain and the Adam Ezra Group – the perfect musical pairings for beer in the sun.

For comedy lovers, the Cape lineup just got better with the addition of the incomparable Nick Swardson. The star of Reno 911! and Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time will bring his brash brand of comedy to Hyannis August 6th. Other comedians appearing on the Cape this year include Bill Cosby, Amy Schumer and Mike Birbiglia.

Rounding out the new Melody Tent announcements is the debut performance of a special show presented by the Cape Symphony. Jung-Ho Pak,  who the New York Times raves “radiates enthusiasm,” will lead the Symphony in musical standards from the Great American Songbook.

Classic rock and blues fans will enjoy the addition of Blues Foundation Hall of Famer Johnny Winter with the Johnny Winter Band. As part of the Rock ‘N’ Blues Fest at the Music Circus August 6th, the man Rolling Stone calls one of the “100 Greatest Guitarists” will be joined by his brother’s grounbreaking Edgar Winter Group and the influential Vanilla Fudge.

Country fans can count on another strong lineup this year, further bolstered by the announcement of sensation Sara Evans. The multi-platinum, ACM Award winner will grace the Music Circus stage on August 29th.

Finally, ABBA the Concert will bring the music and enthusiasm of the original Swedish pop superband to the Music Circus on August 10th. This represents an additional night to the previously scheduled Melody Tent appearance for this incredibly popular homage to ABBA.

“We are especially excited to announce these additions to the 2014 Summer lineup,” noted Marketing Director Deanna Lohnes. “Several programs, the Cape Symphony and the Brewers Festival, represent a ‘First Ever’ opportunity, adding new faces and experiences to the fold. With this well-rounded roster of world-class performers, we accomplished an offering both fresh and diverse – something for everyone.”
